Thanks for those kind words Jim, for the record I am now in my 50th year of playing in the Halton league - I was a young 16 year old when I started playing at the Vine Rec in Coroners Lane - Mal Tough was playing there at the time and we are now playing at the same club again 50 years later - an apple never falls far from the tree!!
Barney, There's a few of us clocking up those numbers of playing years. Hopefully some of the youngsters at the WRUFC club will get interested and join in, it would be good to have young blood in the squad.
By the way, is there any truth in the rumour that when Mal, George, and Norm first played the ball was made from wine corks???? ... just wondered ...
