Wigan Rugby Union club are recruiting players of all ages (from Under 7's to Under 18's) and abilities for the new season starting in September, as we look to build on the amazing success' of last season - where we were winners of the National RFU mini and junior section club of the year.

Last season the club reached the pinnacle of the county game with the clubs Under 16’s team winning the Lancashire Plate, the Under 15’s winning the Lancashire Cup, The Under 12’s drew in the final of the Lancashire Waterfall Festival and the Under 11’s remain unbeaten through 5 glorious seasons.

The mini section, U6’s to U11’s, are also flourishing – being voted National Kids First Mini section of the year for December – with an emphasis on fast flowing attractive rugby – which is fast becoming the DNA of how Wigan set up to play the game. All this is made possible by an army of nearly 30 qualified, volunteer coaches.

As an active member of the Sale Sharks 100 club, Wigan have been proud to receive valuable coaching insight from Sale Sharks, who are regular visitors to the club. As a result, Wiagn have seen over 20 players selected for the Sale Sharks Developing Players Programme last season and have 6 players in the current Sale Sharks Academy. The last couple of years has seen junior players selected for representative honours – with 7 players representing Lancashire last season, and three under 15’s selected for England training camps. To top off the year for the club, three former junior players (Nick Ashcroft, Tom Carlton and Ben Gregory) have represented the North of England and England Counties U20’s team, with Nick and Tom being made joint captains for the England Tour of Georgia.

We would like to welcome players of any age (U6’s to U18’s), any experience or ability to join us on this exciting journey next season. Registration day is on Sunday 9th September.
