83 - 7

Wigan's preparation for the forthcoming season stepped up as they entertained Skipton at Douglas Valley. Though a one-sided affair it proved an ideal opportunity to blood a number of promising colts. Centre Matty Price claimed 24 points with 2 tries and 7 conversions and Lewis Connell crossed once, whilst Jon Clayton, Luke Hollinrake, David Callaghan and Mike Bristow all acquitted themselves well.
Wigan's other tries were shared by debutant Jon Chamberlain, Peter Rigby, Martin Gambles, Danny Mason, Charlie Davies and Anthony Atherton. Wing Ben Wheale also looked dangerous and evergreen centre, Simon Ward, rolled back the years with a lively cameo appearance.
Wigan are next in action, and can expect a much tougher test, when they entertain Blackburn in the Lancashire Trophy on August 30th KO 3pm.
