On Sunday, st Cuthberts made the trip to warrington to face woolston.

As we started our warm up the heavens opened and after 30 minutes of heavy rain and hail and a nice cold wind the players were anything but warmed up. The pitch was waterlogged and the players were dreaming of hot chocolates in the club.

And that's were thier minds stayed. As soon as the game kicked off you could see that cuths really didnt want to play in the conditions and realising this woolston grew in confidence. Everything from missed tackles, knock ons and not spreading out gave Woolston the chance they needed as they ran hard and passed well.

The second half started well with a good run and try from Ben Charnock, but the home team were really fired up and scored 2 more tries to wrap up the game.

Before the match the lads were over confident, add the weather to this and the match was a wash out. Hopefully this was a blip and the lads will show what they are capable of next week in the sun...

Thanks to Dave and all at Woolston, great to be back playing on thier own pitch and the team played great in shocking conditions.
