Now that the squad has been released I would like to say how immensely proud Wigan St Patricks are to have 4 members of our club representing the English Lions against Wales at the end of the month.

The Game will take place on Saturday 28th November at Hindley ARLFC, St Peters Pavillion, Hurst St, Hindley, Wigan with a 1pm Kick Off.

All support welcome, we would encourage all our supporters and junior players to make the very short trip to support our lads.

For these players to have the opportunity to represent their country on home turf is something they should be immensely proud of given the level of competition for an England shirt, being named as an elite player is a fantastic achievement.

In the past much has been said about the selection process, however with the clear, transparent and fair procedure implemented across the duration of the season, to have 3 players selected shows the effort and determination, Kieron, Simon and Earl have put in over the last 12 months, this has been done in conjunction with the support of our Open Age coaches.

It is clear that the community game is awash with some very talented players, and as a club it goes without saying that we fully support all players and staff who gain international honours. Selection for the English Lions is in fact the highest representative honour in the community game.
