A note from Club Coach Malcolm Brown about Saturdays game with Millom.

The Wanderers continued their recent improvement in form with a hard earned away win at Millom, however celebrations were muted afterwards when it was confirmed that two players had sustained serious injuries during the game.

News came through that Conor Barlow had sustained a serious ankle fracture and that Tane Manihera had a fracture to the cheek bone.

Both injuries will require surgery to correct and Conor has been admitted to Carlisle Hospital where he is likely to be for 3/4 days.

We obviously hope the surgery will be a success and both lads will progress to a full and effective recovery.

I am sure I speak for all club players, supporters and sponsors in sending our best wishes to both lads.

In fact all 3 substitutes had been used by half time as Nathan Benson was also helped from the field with an ankle injury.

For the record the score was a 12 - 7 victory with tries from Stuart Creighton and Ryan Clark and a conversion from Dan Reed.

I would also like to send thanks to the Millom club members who helped keep Conor comfortable whilst awaiting the assistance of local paramedics.

Full report later from Colin Sessford.
