First time in Oaktree folk law all three teams bring home victories.

Since the start of Wilburton homing 3 men's teams this season week 6 saw the first time that all teams bought back win's at the same time.

The 1st XI travelled to Saffron Walden at Ashdown Cricket Club. Wilburton posted a par score of 200-6 from their 45 overs. Tom Walker and James Seymour ,both 40, provided the bulk and some quick running from Fin Logan and Fred Hughes at the death added to the total. Thanks to Matt Footman for his record breaking 23 ball duck. Up front wickets for Oli Sellers and Marcus Brook 3-35 as well as a 3 bag for Fin Logan restricted Walden to 187-9 from their overs.

The 2nd XI perhaps had one of their toughest victories yet. Batting first it was Jake Alsop 47 who was the pick, his efforts with some other starts all round saw the side bowled out for 173. In reply Abbots Ripton were hindered throughout. The pick of the bowlers on the day was in no doubt, Iain Housden bought home figures of 3-6 from his 8 over spell which really hampered Riptons chances.

After being bowled out for less than 40 the 3rd XI were looking for a quick bounce back. Bowling first their chances looked very good. The return of some elder experienced heads in Steve Marshall, Mark Harlock, Darren Bentick and James Baddeley strengthened the side no end. Steve Marshall bought home a fantastic 3-8 from his overs. However, a late charge from Willingham II saw them reach 187. However, another 50 from Baddeley along with a suspect 49 from Harlock bought home a great result for the club.

This weekends performance just shows the spirit and togetherness that Wilburton Cricket Club possess, onto the next one.
