Minis and Juniors roundup 7th October

U16s win v Old Saltleians
The first half was a bit of to and fro. The opposition had a very good flyhalf who was doing some damage for Old Saltleians. With the score pretty even at half time the coaches rallied the troops and the second half became a bit more comfortable for Willenhall. The defence became solid, making it harder for old salts to mount an effective attack and our forwards carried the ball really well, making yards and creating the gaps. Willenhall made the most of their possession, scoring 8 tries - Alex Taylor 2, Robert Hall 2, Matt Vickers 1, Luis Smith 1, Callum Griffiths 1 and 1 for ‘The Return of the Mack’, Harry McKenzie - first game back after a long term injury.
Players of the match - Robert Hall in the forwards and Callum Griffiths in the backs.

U15s lose v Old Halesonians
It was another tough day at the office for the troops. They continue to put a massive effort in, week in week out and soon the hard work will pay off for them. The older you get, the tougher it gets.
Player of the match - Jack Downes. Normally a winger, he stepped up and played a great game at flanker. He took one for the team and was immense.

U13s win v Old Halesonians
After a disappointing result last week, the coaches were understandably proud with this week’s turnaround. Travelling with a light squad, the lads showed they meant business from the warmup to the finish. They played for each other and never gave in, despite conceding some tries. In a high scoring game, Leo Bradney went in for his first try for the club after only 2 games. Keegan nearly had a hat trick, scoring 2 tries in his second game (we hope you’ve got a few bob in your pocket when you do that for the Seniors lads - lol).
Player of the match - Kyle Westwood. He was everywhere today - just the type of player all teams need.

Thanks to the coaches for their support.
