In the second division, Northallerton came from behind to beat South Shields 2-1. David Molloy gave Shields the lead with a hot on the turn, but Aaron Ramsbottom equalised from a Martin Butterworth pass. Colin Anderson got the winner from the penalty spot just on half time.
Chester-le-Street had a good 2-0 away win at Heaton Stannington, Scott Heslop scoring both their goals.
Brandon lost 1-0 at home to Ryton, for whom Will Forsyth scored, and Willington drew 0-0 with Whickham at Hall Lane.
Esh Winning are still winless after they were beaten 4-1 at home by Birtley, for whom Anthony Ward scored a hat trick, and Mattie Soulsby the other. Karl Turner scored for Esh, whose joint manager Michael Johnson quit after the game.
