Wilmslow Junior Festival- April 27th and 28th 2013

The Wilmslow juniors and mini rugby festival is a very well established and well attended event attracting teams from across the UK and Ireland.

The principle aim of the festival is to have fun but it also aids the development of the club and site in particular an extension to the junior training pitches. In addition the festival organisers work to ensure that the event is player focused and that means being child focused.

With playing age groups that range from U7's to U12's, Wilmslow's festival is a family event and this is recognised by our attendance figures.

On average 2500 players and their families visit the club (over 90 individual teams) for the day; BBQ's, bars, sweet stalls and ice cream vans really do create the festival environment.

On Saturday evening we have a Charity exhibition game between a select group of our senior players versus a team made up of members of the Manchester Police Force.

This combined with live live music by renowned tribute band Bad Horsie, should make the Saturday evening a night to remember.

It's such a successful combination that we know even the weather doesn't dampen our visitors spirits!

Sponsorship forms a key part of our fund raising activities, companies such as Montagu Private Equity, Frank Marshall and Co, Brooks Limited and Epsom together with jcbmudrun www.thejcbmudrun.co.uk sponsor some of our age group competitions.

Local businesses contribute through programme advertising ensuring that the event remains community based and this is supported by local press coverage.

Wilmslow Festival strives to improve its visitor experience every year, to provide a safe enjoyable atmosphere where both children and rugby are the focus. With a team of dedicated volunteers we are confident that the Festival will be a day to remember.
