PhysioFit session

Nearly 50 Junior players and parents assembled at WRUFC to attend a seminar from Angie Jackson, the owner of PhysioFit, on injury prevention for youngsters in sport, and the performance improvements to be made by addressing issues such as posture, adequate sleep, and controlling exposure to electronic devices and blue light.

Angie has been involved in treating people in sports at all levels for the last 30 years, including the England volleyball and cricket teams and Premier League hockey teams, and is the Consultant Physio to all the Cheshire Cricket teams. She is also the mother of 2 who have both represented their country in their chosen sports, and so has great insight on this subject matter, as both a parent and physio.

Her talk was highly informative and interactive, and it was great to see how engaged our youngsters were in the topic, both during the session and in the informal discussion afterwards, and it’s clear that many of our young players are now incorporating the lessons learned into their training and match preparation.

You can find an abridged version of Angie’s presentation attached, and for those who missed out we hope to be able to run a repeat session at the start of next season.
