M&J West Coast Festival 4, 5, 6th May

Team Tours Direct - In 2013 the West Coast International Mini and Junior Rugby Festival will take place in one of the UK’s leading Holiday destinations in North Devon. Teams will be based in a number superb holiday villages with Woolacombe Bay and John Fowler Holidays partner accommodation providers for the event. With a first class host club in Barnstaple Rugby Club you are sure to enjoy your time on and off the field. Group matches will be played on the Saturday with Cup, Challenge Cup and Bowl matches on the Sunday so wherever you finish you are sure to enjoy an exciting weekend of rugby.

Introduction
The tour is organized by Team Tours Direct (TTD). The players are aged from U7 through to U15’s and are all accompanied by adults responsible for them. WRFC coaches, managers and other staff will be responsible for the usual competition aspects of the tour such as preparation for matches, matches and other related matters such as training sessions or rugby related playing activities with the host clubs. All other times or activities will be the responsibility and subject to the supervision of the adults responsible for the players and children. The coaches will not conduct general child minding or supervison activities. All care and supervison of the players and children after games and in the accommodation is the responsibility of the responsible adult for each player and/or child. TTD will organize transport on behalf of the parents and/or responsible adults as requested, but supervision will remain the responsibility of the parents and/or responsible adults during these journeys.
If any concerns or difficulties are raised by the responsible adult the WRFC coaches or staff will be available to assist. In particular, the Tour Safeguarding Officer and CRB’d Tour Marshals/Coaches will continue with their usual responsibilities and will be available for escalations and emergencies.
Meetings and Organization
• 4th March – Tour Officials and Tour Staff meeting – set out who is responsible
• 18th March – All hands – Tour meeting – planning meeting
• 22nd April – All hands – Tour meeting – final set to go meeting

• Look out for the welfare of yourself and others
• Challenge behavior which is not Okay
• Talk to a coach or tour official if you have a concern
• Be on time when meeting the team
You must not
• Smoke
• Swear or use inappropriate language
• Engage in sexual behavior
• Consume alcohol or drugs
• Leave the site for any reason unless accompanied by a member of staff.
Tour Staff Code of Conduct
• All tour staff must respect the rights, dignity and worth of every young person with whom they work and treat them equally within the context of Rugby Union.
• All tour staff must place the physical and emotional wellbeing of all young players above all other considerations, including the development of performance.
• The relationship that tour staff develops with the players with whom they work must be based on mutual trust and respect.
• All tour staff must ensure that all activities undertaken are appropriate to the age, maturity, experience and ability for the young players.
• All tour staff should clarify with the young players and their parents/carers what is expected of them both on and off the rugby field and also what they are entitled to expect from the coach.
Tour staff must not:
• Share a room with a player
• Smoke
• Consume alcohol or take illegal drugs
• Engage in sexual activity with each other of with players
• Engage in inappropriate physical contact
• Make sexually suggestive comments to a player even in jest
• Swear or use inappropriate language
• Arrange to meet a player on your own.
