We're passionate about our rugby
This year we progress to the full 15 a side game having been in the top three clubs in Hampshire for our age group for the last 6 years. We have over 40 registered players and are looking to run two teams playing matches across the south as well as competing within the Hampshire Cup competition.
Winchester RFC has a very proud history of league and cup honours across all age groups for the last decade and Winchester players continue to provide a significant representation at county and regional level as well as the London Irish Academies and as an age group we are keen to uphold this proud tradition. In keeping with our passion, however, we also believe that players should enjoy their rugby and have the opportunity to play as often as possible.
Training takes place on Sunday mornings at Winchester RFC from 10am. Matches are played on Sundays usually kicking off at 11am.
Our team of RFU qualified coaches have CRB clearance. Our aim is to in still a passion for the sport so those we coach will continue to want to play the sport for many years.
Our goal is to create “Thinking Ball Players”. We encourage them to play in a range of positions on the field. We not only look to teach them different styles of play but more importantly when and why to do things.
If you are interested in giving it a go then either come along or contact one of us below.

21 days agoToday was the day the Saxon’s learnt that committing numbers to the breakdown and working hard to secure clean and above all quick possession enables them to play rugby going forward and to create much needed space for their strong runners in the backs.
