We are passionate about our Rugby
Whether you’re new to the sport, wanting to play for fun or keen to progress to another level, you will be very welcome at WRFC.
Last year's U13 season was our most successful year to date. With approximately 50 registered players we were able run two full squads with some great matches against other clubs within Hampshire and beyond. This season we have two sides in the County Cup, a full fixture card as well as a tour to The Forest of Dean. Plans are also well underway for our tour to South Africa in 2014.
We were able to uphold WRFC's proud history with 14 of our players being selected for the Hampshire-London Irish School of Rugby. In keeping with our passion, however, we also believe that players should enjoy their rugby and have the opportunity to play as often as possible. We were delighted to welcome over 20 new players last season who all played a big part in a successful year. We would be delighted to welcome more
Training takes place on Sunday mornings at Winchester RFC from 10am and Wednesday evenings 6.45 to 8.00pm. Matches are played on Sundays, usually kicking off at 11am with warm-up starting at 10am.
Our team of RFU qualified coaches are all CRB cleared and our aim is to in still a passion for the sport so those we coach will continue to want to play the sport for many years.
Our goal is to create “Thinking Ball Players”. We encourage them to play in a range of positions on the field. We not only look to teach them different styles of play but more importantly when and why to do things.
If you are interested in giving it a go then either come along on Sunday morning or contact one of us below.
