Another win for the Under 13s.
Park's under 13s produced a strong second half performance to defeat an under strength but determined Mold team on Sunday.
First of all thank you to Mold for making the long journey with only 13 players. Their determination and spirit are a credit to their club.
Fortunately we were able to lend them 3 players to ensure that both sides started with 15 players. Thank you to Charlie, Max Taylor and Liam for playing for Mold.
Onto the game.
As ususal Park started slowly. The boys seemed to think that because Mold had players missing, that they would be a push over. They were anything but, and tackled with ferocity throughout.
Park eventually got themselves going with flankers Matt Hand and Olly crossing the line for well worked tries both of which were unconverted. Well done to Olly for scoring his first try for the club in what was his best game in a Park shirt.
Half time; 10-0
After a talking to from the coaches, Park played much better rugby in the second half.
First to score was James Norman with another strong run, helped by Aidan in the first of his 3 assists. Mike converted.
James Hayes-Clarke then scored his first try for Park and quickly followed it with his second and third, scoring a 10 minute hat-trick. All of which were converted by Ross and Mike as our "happy half backs" finally found their kicking boots this season.
Final score; 38-0
The score line was perhaps a little harsh on Mold, but Park's second half display certainly deserved the win.
