Healthy 4 Life is a project for adults with learning disabilities enabling individuals to access and play football. Carolyn Rogers is project lead and started the project in 2005 with a colleague; Jackie Kendle is project assistant and has been with the project for five years. The project was run on a voluntary basis for four years before funding was gained. Funding has enabled kits, equipment, venue hire, qualified coaches and transport to be provided.

The project has three groups with over 100 players registered in Clacton, Colchester and Witham and all have weekly training sessions throughout the year. The project takes part in a monthly league, tournaments and friendly games.

In September 2018 Healthy 4 Life won two awards from Anglian Community Enterprise acknowledging the value of football for individuals with disabilities.

Healthy 4 Life welcomes sponsorship from individuals and companies helping to ensure the continued development of the project. We always welcome new players with disabilities.
