So did anyone guess when and where the photograph was?

This photo was taken during Andy Lyne’s second spell as Witney Town Manager and it was a game played on Sunday 15th March 1998 between a Witney Town XI past and present and a Tottenham Old Boys side, to celebrate Witney’s 25th consecutive season in the Southern league. Witney won 7-5 and former Oxford United and Shrewsbury Town striker Matty McDonnell bagged four for the Blanketmen.

The Tottenham side included former keeper Milija Aleksic, winger Jimmy Neighbour, Welsh International defender Paul Price, midfielder Garry Brooke and striker Mark Falco.

The Witney squad was Mick Taylor, John Shuker, Chris Austin, Ian Rundle, Craig Dore, Steve Tavinor,Andy Martin, Tristan Didcock, Andy Sinnott, Shaun Wimble, Lee Keyes, Tommy Pegler, Matty McDonnell and Geoff Neville. Gary Osman from Thame refereed the game. And the attendance was 152.

Witney Town finished that season 8th in the Southern league and won the Oxfordshire Senior Cup beating Oxford City in the final at the Manor Ground.
