Mo Osman, latest from the dug-out!

Wivenhoe Vs CRC

I was let a bit deflated on Saturday, with no excuses for a poor 1st half performance and a catalogue of errors gifting our visitors with a 3-0 half time lead, this obviously left us with a mountain to climb, but we managed to pull ourselves together to at least lift the effort and performance in the second half and make a game of it.

I would like to accept the full responsibility and in no way will blame the players for Saturdays result as the prepartion for the match prior to kick off from my position was not to my normal high standards that I set myself.

It was a strange day and it brought to light some of the small problems that we have at the club, and these small details have a massive effect on us all on and off the pitch.

Let me explain....

With the rain we had on Friday night and early Saturday morning this left parts of our pitch waterlogged.

The referee at 1.15 demanded that the water on the pitch was to be cleared. My players and I started to fork the pitch which wasn't helping, this let the referee very close to calling the match off, the players started to bring barrel loads of sand to try and improve the situation which after an hours worth of hard work especially by Woddy and Ben Williamson and the help of Dave Wignall, Paul Turner and Carl Cullan (thanks guys this was much appreciated by myself and the players) the referee eventually agreed to play the game and delay the kick off until 3.15.

On top of this for the third game running we have had to run around looking for tape and pegs for the goal net to once again delay the kick off, no match day programme again for supporters, last week the lines wasn't marked out at least 30 minutes prior to kick off.

I wont keep going on and in no way will try to make excuses for the result on Saturday, but I'm trying to make people aware of the problems within the club is the lack of man power to carry out these duties. 1 or 2 guys can not do all this on there own and I would like everyone to wisen up and realise that when you walk through the turnstiles on Saturday the game wasn't just magically put on and maybe practicing to be grounds man 45 minutes before kick off is not the best way for any player to prepare for a football match.

This is more than a plea than a dig at anyone as we all have to pull together at this time of need, but we are working hard to create a team we can be proud of on the pitch but without a team off the pitch we will continue to have people walking away from our club thinking 'what a shamble' this to me leaves me embarrassed and angry. If anyone one out there is willing to help the cause, any help no matter how small would be much appreciated as I for one will not this club continue to be viewed in such a manner on or off the pitch. Who's with me?

Webmaster note - If you feel you can offer the club your support, no matter how little, and would like to get involved on a match day behind the scenes, we would love to hear from you. Please email us on wivenhoetown@yahoo.co.uk or alternatively ask to speak to Carl Callan at the next home game.

Thank you for your continued support.
