Reserve team Manager Michael Wallace brings us an update as the Season draws to a close.

On behalf of myself and the Reserve team, we would like to say a big thank you to all the Wivenhoe Town supporters who have come along this season to support us home or away. The players and myself really appreciate the support.

This season was always about building a solid foundation in the Reserve’s for Mo and Kev. With a top half finish in the table (if we win Tuesday night at Whitton) as well as the inclusion of many Reserve team players in the Senior Squad (some of them only 16), I feel this season has been a success for the Reserves. Next season I want to build on this success and I would love to see more fans who can’t make first team away fixtures to come along to the Maple Tree Cars Stadium and support your future senior players.

One of my main aims for next Season is to provide you with more frequent updates, via the website, Facebook and Twitter as well as in and around Wivenhoe when we have a home reserve game, so all followers of the Dragons are kept up to date with progress, how our players are developing and of course future fixtures. It would be great to see a few more faces come along and cheers on the lads at home games, which would not only be a big boost but also help with our ever increasing running costs. If any supporters have any questions please feel free to stop me in or around the Club as I am happy to answer any questions.

A few thank you’s, firstly to Mo for giving me this opportunity. Since coming to Wivenhoe I have found this club to be a special place and is now deep in my heart. Thank you to Lorraine and Janet as without them two we would not have the club house or hospitality running as smoothly as it does on match days (as well as my cup of tea!).

Thank you to Bernard for helping out as reserve physio. Thank you to David who is always there with his camera taking photos at every reserve home game.

And the biggest thank you goes to the lads who have played for me week in, week out and have given there all for the Club.

I look forward to my first full season at Wivenhoe Town. Have a nice summer and I will see you all in August.

Mike.
