Rugby's Back...

and it feels good!

Both of Wivey's Senior teams return to action this weekend!

The 2nd XV entertain Chard at Plain Pond this Saturday whilst the 1st XV travel away to St. Bernadettes. With a long pre-season completed both teams will be looking to get off to a flyer as we begin our League Campaigns. There is a real buzz within the squad and some old faces returning to the fold.

Last night (Tuesday), we travelled to a joint training session with Tiverton RFC, our old friends who play in Western Counties West. For the forwards this was the first opportunity to "lock-horns" with an opponent this year and they certainly didn't look rusty. Picking up from where we left off last year, Wivey dominated across the park as we ended the session with a 30 minute game. Both teams gained a lot from this, and there was plenty of great opportunities for different faces to get some game time and make a case for selection!

Teams for Saturday to be announced later this week, and we look forward to seeing all our friend's along the top touchline in the coming weeks! Thank you especially to those who travelled down and stood in the cold last night!
