Bridgenorth Provide A Good Test For Our Under 14’s
Fielding a much improved side since our last encounter, Bridgenorth battle hard to the end.
Three 20 minute thirds were planned in a match designed to allow all of our players game time and began with neither side able to take the initiative until 8 minutes in when Wolverhampton’s Harry Handford was able stretch over the line in the far corner. It was another 10 minutes of even play until Bridgenorth were able to capitalise on a period of sustained pressure to see them equalise.
A number of substitutions and positional changes could not break the deadlock in the second period which again saw both sides battling hard to take the lead.
Fresh legs brought a quick succession of break away tries from Sam Hazeldine in the opening minutes of period three whilst conversions from James Tatton took the scoreline to 19-5. Bridgenorth were still up for a fight putting in some brave tackles against the likes of Amanjeet’s storming runs.
More breakaway tries from Wolverhampton saw some powerful sprinting from Nihal and Branden to take the finishing scoreline to 31-5 (with another James Tatton conversion).
An enjoyable match then with a great atmosphere which begins our build-up to next week’s league semi with Stafford - c’mon the lads!
