Membership Cards Update

The Aim Of The System Is Fairness For All Paying Members

Hello Everyone,

The Membership Card system went live on a Saturday for the first time last week. Whilst generally well received, it was noted that some cards were being transferred to non members. Bar staff have been instructed to only accept cards from named holder.

These are not loyalty cards where you can get a discount for appearing to be a regular customer as you would at the Newhampton Inn. These are membership cards which are given out to those who pay their membership. We are a members club with social club prices not pub prices. The membership card allows members to purchase their drinks at the same price as before the system went in. To encourage users of the club to take out membership, prices have been set a little higher but this is still competitive with pub prices. This is designed to recover the costs of running the club from those who choose not to take out membership.

It is not fair to expect to feel like a member of the club and not actually be a member. This is also unfair on those who contribute to the club by paying their membership. Non members of the club cannot expect to have the same benefits as those who are members.

The membership at Wolverhampton Rugby Club and the bar prices still represents good value for money compared to other rugby clubs or organisations. Your respect for membership would be appreciated.
