Not too much needs to be said about this game, Wolves took a two try lead in the first half with scores from Andy Oates and Oli Herman. It was great to see the tin man running the show from ten but unfortunately it wasn't to last. A shoulder injury to the maestro took him out of the game and begs the question why wasn't his whole skeleton coated in adamantium and not just his skull.



A 14 point lead at home should've been enough even with the injuries to key players starting to pile up but Walsall showed rugged determination and used their experience to full effect. They bruised and battered their way back into the game. For the wolves players it was a day of non stop tackling but ultimately they came up short, the pack appeared lightweight at times, even with the introduction of Danny Bromley. The backs never seemed to fully click when on offence and like the forwards, just weren't nasty enough on defence.



Walsall managed to score three tries and convert two of them with Wolves hardly even threatening to get into their half. A late rally from the black machine got Wolves into the opposition 22 but errors with basic fundamentals led to them leaving empty handed.

Wolves must now look to next season to right these wrongs, the team spirit generated this season has been excellent and must be carried forward into the new season when hopefully the black boys can go one better...
