Sunday 16th October - National Colts Cup

4 years ago By Simon Hallam

With a bye in the first round, we travel this Sunday to Wellesbourne to meet in the second round of the National Colts Cup.

Wellesbourne sit on the same number of points in the NMCL but above us on points difference.

Also in our half of the draw:

  • Worcester are at home to Derby (neither having played in the first round) - one of which will play on 20th November the winners of our game this Sunday;
  • Moseley (who beat Bromsgrove 32-9) are at home to Telford;
  • and
  • Stourbridge are at home to Walsall.

In the other half of the draw:

  • Hereford are at home to the Bees (again, neither played in round one);
  • Nuneaton (won 0-18 against Whitchurch) host DK (37-12 winners over Kiddy);
  • Burton 97-17 against Rugby) meet Barkers Butts (beat Lichfield away 5-22);
  • Kenilworth meet Old Hales, each for their first game in the cup.

It is vital that all available Colts attend training this week - Wellesbourne will be a stern test. If we win, we get to play again in the Cup; if we lose, only the Plate competition in December beckons.

Where next?

Matt Lincoln is the new Colts Manager Taking over from Simon Hallam, who has managed the squad for the past 2 years, Matt is looking forward to another successful season.
