Sporting halt AFC Ludlows 7 game winning streak

After the 10-0 drubbing at the hands of AFC Ludlow Sporting called upon R Jones, Moran, Gayle & Towsend from the first team to strengthen the reserve side and went straight into the starting line up with Onokah also on the bench.

Ludlow took the lead with a long freekick superbly headed home by the impressive Dale Hodge. Sporting were soon back on level terms as Townsend raced clear and cooly fired past Cooper. Benton then made a smart low stop before Townsend should of made it 2-1 as he blazed over with just Cooper to beat. Just after a Sporting corner thumped the Ludlow post and was cleared to safety. Townsend then raced clear again but this time cooper made an excellent low stop to keep his effort out.

HT 1-1

Ludlow restored there lead when once more a long ball caught out the Sporting defence and Keanu Cooper calmly slotted past Benton. Sporting duely leveled 10 minutes later as the ball fell to Price to calmly volley past Cooper. Sub Onokah then raced clear and with just Cooper to beat his effort was comfortably saved. Ludlow then nearly re-took the lead for a 3rd time as Hodges effort beat Benton but hit the post. Benton then made one of the best saves of the season to deny Ludlow from close range. Gayle nearly made it 3-2 with minutes remaining as his quick feet saw him side step 2 Ludlow defenders before firing a vicious effort inches past the up right. Ludlow then had a glorious chance with the last kick of the game as Benton made another excellent save and with the goal gaping the Ludlow player blazed over from 10 yards.
