Present:- Kev Linney, Craig Bond, Rich Batty, Malc Bond, Matty Tonks, Luke Aitken, Chris Ferris

Secretaries Report
Craig started by giving a brief update of the details following SYCL AGM, over’s, start times etc to be changed, details can be found on the website. Discussions were also had with regards the ‘transfer’ rule.

Treasurers Report
It was discussed that the Cricket Section of the club needs to be more pro-active in contributing to the overall ‘association’. Over the last couple of years the cricket section have not been seen to contribute as much as some of the other sports, with regards social events, generating money over the bar. Discussions on how to improve on this would be brought up later in the meeting.

Captains Report
1st team – Rich reiterated that the achievement of the 1st team gaining promotion last season was extraordinary, but as a team things needed to move on. Luke Aitken and Michael Donson have already signed, but Rich is hard working on 2 more players. To date we have made 24 approaches with, 6 still in the balance.

2nd team – Craig admitted that 2017 was the toughest in his 12 year tenure, but had done as much as he could to get a team out, but circumstances wouldn’t allow. Next season, so far we have confirmed Callum Whitehead and Joe Armitage and are looking at several others players, but as a result of last season, the 2nds need to ensure that they play every game next season.

Membership Fees – a discussion was had regarding membership fees. All players should as a minimum be a paid member of the club, those present agreed that £20 per person was a reasonable amount for players to pay, this would include the membership fee for the club. This needs to be paid before the start of April.

Match Fees – this would stay the same for 2018. Seniors/Students £10, U16s £6

Election of Officials
General Cricket Committee – Kev Linney, Rich Batty, Craig Bond, Luke Aitken and Chris Ferris (this is not a closed book and anyone wanting to join and have an input are welcome)
1st team captain – Rich Batty
2nd team captain –Kev Linney
Secretary – Craig Bond
Treasurer – Craig Bond
Honorary Chairman – Malc Bond
Meetings Chairman – Kev Linney
Social Media Guru – tbc

Recruitment
Due to the threat hanging over our head of the second team, all effects to be made to get interested players in as soon as possible, nets are due to start end of January, and a decent amount at each net is required. Procedures are still to be followed, but if any player knows anyone who might be interested, get in touch with Craig who will email their current club.

Fundraising
Following on from the Treasurers report, ideas on how we could increase our social events at the club were discussed and several good ideas raised. The General Cricket Committee would be discussing the ideas and looking to put a diary together for 2018
