The close season has been very productive for the 1st team & the plans both captains put in place have all come off with some great signings joining the club. Of course this then strengthens the 2nd team. Young Ryan Metcalfe has asked not to be involved this year which is a great shame but with the number of 1st team recruitments this could be the strongest looking 2nd squad for years.

Craig Bond again takes up the reigns as skipper for the 6th consecutive season with his vice being Martin Pickering, Youngsters like Elliott, Kathan, Bradley & Corey will look to build on last year & hope to have an exciting season with bat & ball in front of them. Experienced heads like Anthony, Woodhead, Martin, Turk, Craig & hopefully the well rested & healed Marc will push on to make 2012 a successful season.

The team has enjoyed decent cup runs over the past few years with a final & semi final appearance as well as two promotions. Last season was there first year in division six & after a year of acclimatising to the step up & also the strong pool of players to pick from everyone is hoping for another successful season for the 2nd XI on the back of course of the 1st team XI.
