It’s raining GOALS, GOALS, GOALS as the under 10 Black win the league title.
What a difference compared to a few weeks ago. The players turned up with determination and a un sympathetic approach to the opposition.
The pitch wasn’t in the best of conditions after it had been recently cut and the line where nearly none existent.
Woodbank started the game kicking up hill and right from the start chance after chance went begging, however this was down to individualism rather than team work. The lads soon got the message from the side lines when the heavens opened in the 5th minute with GOALS, GOALS, GOALS; this was short lived though with a quick reply from a Prestwich team that tried to play football from the start. 1-1. Amaan Sadiq (5th Minute)
This was short lived when Jack Langton hitting the net in the 10th Minute, Followed by Amaan Sadiq on the 16th, Jack Langton on the 18th Minute, Oscar Lewis Williams on the 23rd and 24th Minute.
The goals just kept coming with great determination, passing, moving, talking. Everything had fell into place from the hard work the lads had put in all year. 6-1 HALF TIME.
The lads where told to keep up the passing and closing the ball down when they didn’t have possession and to take the second half as a 0-0 start.
Woodbank soon had a free kick from about 15 yards out. A small debate on the side lines on who was taking the kick, this allowed “Captain Marvel” Fraser Suthers to step up and blast the ball hard and low into the bottom corner on the 28th minute, Oscar Lewis-Williams scored his hatrick on the 36th minute, followed by Lewis Greenhalgh getting in on the act in the 39th minute, followed by Joe Holland finishing from close range in the 40th minute and then Jack Langton completing his hatrick in the 42 minute with another free kick. FULL TIME and a convincing win for the BLACKS.
And that was just the goals; this report can’t go without mentioning Tom Nally mazy dribbling to setup 2 of the goals.
Joshua Chadwick who worked tirelessly up and down the wing to setup Amaan’s Goal and Man of the Match Elliott Whalley who said he couldn’t attack going up and down the wing to set 2 goals and be compared to Danni Alves by his manager. (Great, Great Game Elliott).
Also the un-sung heroes of the game who went about their business and taking a back seat for a change in Lewis Ashton and Dylan Chilton.
Great Game, Great Win. Thanks for all your hard work and support throughout the season. We will see you all at presentation evening.
