Welcome to Woodford Mini rugby Under 10's
Mini rugby is a mixture of exercise, skills, team work and personal development to bring out the best in children in an enjoyable environment. This is supported by qualified coaches within excellent facilities. The safety of children is of upmost importance and at all ages we assess each child on their ability before they are allowed to play in matches.
We follow the RFU continuum principles so that as children get older they move away from non-contact tag rugby in to a contact game, so that by the time they finish at under12 they are ready to progress to a full size pitch and 15 a side.
We run training sessions and arrange home and away matches with other clubs on a Sunday morning, from September to April
Details of fixtures and our selection policy are also available on this site
At Under 10 (School Year 5) Players in 9 a-side teams develop the increased sophistication at the new skills introduced at Under 9 with Scrumaging, and Line-outs and development of defence and attack
I believe Rugby is a wonderful team sport with social and life values that can last you a lifetime. Through physical engagement players develop decision making skills and individual responsibility for themselves and others. If you would like your child to give rugby a try then please contact a coach in the appropriate age group or come down to one of the training sessions and see for your self. We look forward to welcoming you to Woodford RFC.
