Under 11s hit season high score
Another good all-round performance sees U11s notch up 171 against a young South Woodford B
With South Woodford's U11 A team engaged in a cup match, The Green's U11 team had a one-side friendly this Sunday against a mostly U9 team.
South Woodford won the toss and batted first in an adapted 'Terriers' format match where everyone bats and bowls. The batting team managed 89 for 5 with a generous number of extras given by our bowlers who struggled for consistency. Pick of the bowling came from Umar, Alfie, Barney and debutant Will who did particularly well: 2 overs, 1 maiden, 1 wicket for 2. With minus 5 for each wicket, S.Woodford finished with a net 56.
Despite some good bowling from the S.Woodford youngsters, The Green soon got the scoreboard rolling with 4s coming off nearly every playable ball. Mustafa opened with Zak and pair hit an excellent 27 off 4 overs. In total eight players hit boundaries during their time at the crease. Andrew finished the innings hitting 13 off his two solo overs taking the total to 171 for 5 (net 146). Best score of the season so far - well done all.
