The home game against Fives Athletic started slightly late due to the customary minutes silence in remembrance of our fallen heroes.

once the game kicked off it was Woodley who controlled most of the possession against the team 3rd in the league.
the good play was rewarded when a fine driving move by Elliot Cummings was finished off spectacularly by Michael Martin.
The rest of the half was a keenly contested contest between 2 evenly matched sides and Woodley went into the break in the unusual position of being a goal up.

Fives, as expected, came out of the blocks quickly in the 2nd half and could have levelled in the first few minutes as they put the home team under a lot of pressure but the defence held firm and it was Woodley that extended their lead with Cain Atkinson's 2nd goal in 2 games when he forced the ball home from close range.

Woodley sat back a little after that and allowed Fives to come on to them. That error was punished when the away side scored to set up a tense final 10 minutes.
Woodley managed to hold on to the lead and earn their first win in 7.

The football being played by the young Woodley side is definitely being rewarded as we have now picked up a draw and a win from the last 2 which is equal to the best run since we entered this league.
Keep up the good work lads and hopefully we can continue to climb the table.
