Joining Jack

4 year old Jack Johnson, son of former Wigan player Andy Johnson, needs your support. Can you join Jack?

http://joiningjack.org/

Jack is everything a four-year-old should be. He is cheeky, excitable and a big softy at heart. He loves to make dens, play hide and seek and wave his lightsaber like a Jedi Knight. In a few months time he will start school and cannot wait to begin his journey into the big wide world. But what he does not yet know is that he has a terminal, incurable disease.

Jack has been diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is a terrible muscle wasting disease that is at present incurable and terminal. It gradually attacks the muscular system so that sufferers lose the ability to move and eventually the heart and lungs fail.

One of our parent members (and future coach?) - Cubs assistant Pete Bowden - is doing a 100 mile bike ride for Joining Jack. He wants to raise awareness of DMD and show support for the Johnson family. If you would like to make a donation please visit his Just Giving site at:
