Woolston Rovers Under 15s have been asked by Ryan Atkins to take part in a ‘War of the Roses’ clash with West Leeds as part of his Testimonial; the game will take place at The Sadore Construction Field, Monks Sports Club, Hillock Lane, Woolston on Sunday 20th January, kicking off at 11.30am.

The Rovers side, who have been unbeaten for the past two seasons and completed back-to-back ‘trebles’ were delighted to take on the game against a side that they have had no previous record against and it should provide a fine start to the coming season.

The game kicks off on the morning that Atkins has his Testimonial game against Widnes Vikings at The Halliwell Jones Stadium so will be an excellent start to a day that will hopefully bring out plenty of spectators to recognise the loyal service that he has given to the Wolves.

Atkins said, “It is fitting that I asked Woolston to take part in this game; they have had a great record recently and hopefully everybody will enjoy the game. I have a friend who is a coach of the West Leeds side and they have agreed to travel over to Warrington for this game, which I am really grateful to them for. I am looking forward to what will be a very special day for myself and my family.”

Rovers Under 15s Head Coach Darren Geritas said, ”We had no hesitation in agreeing to play this game; it is a really good test for the lads as we prepare for the new season and also it is for a really good cause. Ryan has been an excellent player for the Wire over the past ten years and I was really pleased when he spoke to me and asked if we would host this game.”
