Woolston Rovers Under 16s Golds will be hosting the first of this year’s sponsored bike rides

on Saturday 31st March, starting from Monks Sports Club, Hillock Lane, Woolston.

Rovers Under 16s Golds Head Coach Scott Bolton said, “We have been asked by quite a few of the teams about this as it is a superb way to raise a significant amount of money and with each team now responsible for raising our own money it is probably the most important time to get involved. It is only £5 per person to enter and each team can then keep whatever sponsorship money they raise for themselves. The ride will be set off in groups of 5-6 riders at different intervals, with 1-2 adults with each group. As in previous years there will be a choice of 2 courses; the 10.5 mile ‘Quick Winger’ which is 90% away from the roads, with only 2 main road crossings, so is perfect for the younger ages (both are at pelican crossings) or the more challenging 21 mile ‘Big Prop’ which is approximately 75% away from roads. It really should be great fun for all who take part and there will be a BBQ back at the club for when you have finished the ride.”

The ‘Quick Winger’ has a ‘time trial’ challenge incorporated whilst the ‘Big Prop’ has the additional and now infamous ‘King of the Hill.’ Who will bag the bragging rights for your team??

To get involved could not be any simpler. All you need to do is print your sponsor forms off, hand them out and then turn up on the day, pay a fiver and ride your bike. Then afterwards collect your sponsorship money; everything else is done by the Under 16s Golds.

If you would like to be involved at Rovers in any capacity please contact Club Secretary Nikki Whalley on 07889 170895, e-mail nikki_whalley@hotmail.com or log on to the club website at www.pitchero.com/clubs/woolstonroversrlfc for further details.
