Thank you Rotherham Titans

Thank you Rotherham Titans Vice Presidents

A group of Vice Presidents from Rotherham Titans RFC visited Wootton Bassett over the weekend. The group wished to remember fallen servicemen as well as watch a top of the table clash against Beaconsfield.
We held a small informal lunch for our guests which was very well received. Thanks to Les and his sous chefs and to Liz and Laura for their help in making the lunch a success. Plaques and ties were exchanged at the end of the meal, with Rotherham offering WBRFC an invitation to visit them. The VPs stayed for the game which turned out to be an exciting encounter.
A wreath was laid at the War Memorial on Sunday by our visitors.
We wish to thank our guests for visiting Wootton Bassett Rugby Club and making the occasion such a memorable one.

Every year for the past 15 years, The Original Raiders from Rotherham Titans Rugby Union Football Club have on Armistice Day, visited a different cenotaph in various countries in Europe.

This year they chose Royal Wootton Bassett and on the Sunday they laid a wreath draped in club colours on behalf of the Rotherham Titans Rugby Union FC.

The weekend was very emotional with the history of Royal Wootton Bassett and what the town has contributed to our armed forces in the past.

Wootton Bassett RUFC invited them to lunch as guests prior to their game on the Saturday when they were playingBeaconsfield. The Original Raiders presented a club plaque on behalf of the club to Wootton Bassett RUFC, which was gratefully received by Mr Jim Brierley.

The Original Raiders would like to thank Wootton Bassett RUFC for their wonderful hospitality and in particular their Vice Chairman Mr Jim Brierley who made their visit possible.

    Absinthe Friends
