Swindon brought two 7 aside teams to Wootton Bassett for a triangular fixture. This was the first time some of the juniors had represented the club.
The team which consisted of boys and girls ranging from 10 – 14 years old played a well organised Swindon team first. Wootton Bassett had to learn very quickly as they were put under pressure from the start. Some good distribution from Curtis Mansfield in defence helped get Bassett going and Emma Brown created some great opportunities from midfield which were well defended by Swindon. Bassett went in to half time 1-0 down, a good half time team talk from, team manager, Matt Daniell helped Bassett get organised for the second half. Rebekah Taylor started the next half with some great movement with the ball causing Swindon problems. However Bassett couldn’t get past a very strong Swindon goal keeper. Swindon managed to stretch their lead on a counter attack which took the final score to 2-0.
