At the start of the season Bassett would have found this game an easy fixture however after recent performances and the lack of our full strength team, this was always going to be challenging. Bassett got off to a brilliant start enforcing early pressure on the Buccs goal. Bassett got the first goal of the game when a Martyn Chivers shot was not cleared well by the Buccs keeper resulting in captain Luke Salisbury roofing the ball into the top net. Bassett then let Bath back into the game with a well worked short corner. Bassett regained the lead before the end of the half with Jakeem Lee combining with Matt Jakubiek who slapped the ball from the top D into the corner of the goal.

The second half began again with Bassett on the attack. The away side extended their lead when a short corner was played hard back into the D and Jakeem Lee flicked it into the corner of the goal. Bassett completely switched off after this and made several mistakes resulting in two quick goals by Buccs. Bath then took the lead when a shot went through the legs of Jack Rose. Bassett fought hard to get back into the game, and managed to get an equaliser when Stu Bell's short corner expertly bobbled shot found its way into the goal. Bassett should have clinched it late on with Martyn Chivers unlucky at the back post.

Bassett would really have hoped to win the game with Buccs only a few point behind them in the league especially with 3 tough games still to play. Bassett will hope for a strong team against West Wilts B next week at home.
