City hold strong to earn a point in the Boxing Day derby

City put in a defensive masterclass to shut out Kidderminster Harriers in front of a 1800+ crowd at The Victoria Ground this afternoon.

A game littered with cards and crunching challenges was end to end all the way to the final whistle.

After overcoming a first half Harriers barrage, City grew in to the game, being unlucky not to take the lead in to the break.

The second half was a much more one sided affair with Harriers pushing City back on to the edge of their own penalty box.

The game became even more of an uphill battle when Sam Oji was shown a straight red card on 55 minutes. City held strong throughout, shutting the Harriers out with sheer determination.

On 77 minutes, Ryan Croasdale was shown a second yellow card for the visitors, taking a little of the pressure off for The Blue And Whites.

The closest chance for the visitors came right at the death as Daryl Knights shot was scrambled off the line. The assistant referees flag was also raised, saving City.

City saw it through and picked up a point against their local rivals.
It sets up the return fixture on New Years Day, which looks set to be a thrilling encounter
