City battle hard for a point at The Tameside

City pick up a point this evening in a tense encounter at The Tameside Stadium. In a tight first half, Curzon had a glorious chance to take the lead as Jordan Keane tripped Ennis, conceding a penalty in the 17th minute. Fortunately, Ethan Ross got down low to the left to keep the spot kick out.

Debutant, Dan Turner looked lively and got a few shots away, but none troubling Cameron Mason in the Curzon goal.

The sides went in all square at the break.

The second half started much livlier and saw City take the lead through a fabulous Colby Bishop strike on 54 minutes. The forward cut inside and twisted his man, firing low past Mason from 20 yards.

The lead only lasted 8 minutes as Ryan Hall burst down the right hand side, driving a low cross across the face of goal. Andy Gallinagh couldn't react fast enough to turn it away from goal and it trickled across the line.

The last 30 minutes played out in tense fashion. City had a fabulous chance to steal all 3 points at the very death as Cieron Keane found space in the Curzon box. He tried to flick the ball towards goal but couldn't get enough on it.

The referee blew up with each side taking a point on Tameside.
