Waking up to a beautiful sunny morning boded well for a good match against Stratford Upon Avon. As it was the half term weekend there was a fear that not many boys would turn up and upon starting the drive over to Stratford we descended into fog dampening our spirits. But once we arrived at the venue the turnout was excellent with nearly two teams worth of boys! Plus the boys were looking forward to fog rugby!
It was decided that the game would be played in 3 halves with 20mins each third.
The game kicked off and what followed was a fantastic game of rugby! We scored early and set the bar high. Stratford put up an excellent fight and gave us a superb match. As we were playing with a mixture of A and B teams, this was brilliant opportunity for the B squad to show their improvement over the season. They did not disappoint! There were a good number of B players who were noted for their efforts whilst the A squad once again brought out the best in everyone. This included the parent supporters. The banter and support from both sides was wonderful and made the game that much more enjoyable. Not to mention that the aforementioned sun finally made an appearance halfway through the game cutting through the fog and adding a much needed warmth to the day.
After the three thirds were over it was decided that the final score was Stratford 21 - 34 Worcester. Everyone was enjoying the game so much that the final score was immaterial.
Thank you to Stratford for putting on a fixture during the half term weekend when most other clubs were not, as it turned into one of the best matches of the season.
Well done boys for a highly entertaining game!
