In a very hard-fought affair Worcester Vipers Under 14's narrowly edged out a determined Luctonians Under 14's side who were hosting the final on their home turf.
On a cold blustery morning Luctonians exerted early pressure which the Worcester defence did well to withstand for the first 5 minutes and then after 8 minutes Worcester took the lead when Alex Terry was on the end of a good move into the Luctonians half and finished well near the left hand corner, despite a good effort from Jacob Morgan-Iqbal the conversion was narrowly missed.
The flow of play was regularly interrupted by the referees whistle during the first half and Worcester were penalised after 11 minutes when Luctonians reduced the deficit to 2 points with a twice-taken penalty.
Half-time: Luctonians 3-5 Worcester
With the wind at their backs Worcester were able to keep Luctonians in their own half for much of the second half and after 12 minutes of the half Leo Jamous scored a superb individual try near the right hand corner - again the conversion attempt was narrowly missed.
Despite the feeling that Worcester might well have done enough to seal victory, Luctonians launched a series of attacks in the Worcester half for the remainder of the game including an impressive series of phases and pushes for the Worcester line.
This is where the Worcester defence ultimately won the Cup for the Vipers by holding off a number of strong surges including a last minute wonder tackle by captain Will Wrout to prevent the line being breached.
