International Tickets are incredibly valuable to us as a Club and it is imperative that we all play our part in protecting the rights of all Club Members and Patrons to receive these tickets.
The RFU Ticket Distribution T&Cs, which can be viewed here, are purely in place to ensure that these tickets remain in the hands of genuine Rugby fans & RFU member Clubs.
The text of the North Mids communication is quoted below:
Dear all
It has been North Midlands misfortune that 2 tickets to the England/Scotland game and 2 for the England/France game found their way on to the ‘Black Market’. Reports have been submitted to Twickenham and we currently await the notification of an anticipated sanction for the supply of future tickets.
Two individuals were supplied with these tickets – Bryan Johnson and Vivian Shingler – and whilst both were not directly involved with any misdoing they do retain their responsibilities under the Terms & Conditions of issue. Copies of these are attached together with guidance notes for both Clubs & Constituent Bodies for your reference.
A 5 year ban on future ticket applications has been imposed on Bryan Johnson and Vivian Shingler has received a lifetime ban, pending reconsideration subject to the submission of any mitigation. They are Patron Members of both Greater Birmingham and North Midlands and the sanction will apply to their patronage of each.
This matter is regarded very seriously by the RFU and North Midlands RFU and this message is sent as both a reminder and warning to ensure that all ticket distributions to Patrons, Club Members or even Sponsors have inherent responsibilities and any misuse will not be tolerated.
Regards
Charlie Hemmings
North Midlands RFU
