Wanderers Lose at Lichfield
Wanderers travelled to Lichfield and played their part in an entertaining game which saw Lichfield emerge as worthy winners by 52 points to 22.
Lichfield's finishing was clinical as they capitalised on the high unforced error count by the Wanderers.
A converted try from the flying Lichfield left wing set the tone; a speculative off load from Paul Burton was intercepted on half way and he sped home!
It was the pattern of the game throughout and coupled with a master class goal kicking performance from the excellent counter attacking Lichfield full back, the Wanderers struggled for continuity.
They did rally to get within a point of Lichfield and at 23 to 22 points an unlikely victory looked possible! But, Lichfield shut the door scoring 4 tries to nil, snapping up the Wanderers errors to win convincingly despite Wanderers tries from Simon James, Gareth Owens and Tom Ward with Greg Fincher adding 2 conversions and a penalty.
