An exciting opportunity has opened up for the role of a 2nd XV head coach and we are looking for applicants

Job Description:
Worcester RFC Ladies Section are seeking a new 2nd XV Head Coach for the 2016-2017 season which will commence with pre-season training in June. Women’s Rugby has increased in exposure since England Women’s Rugby Team were crowned World Champions at the 2014 Women’s Rugby World Cup. This is an exciting opportunity to join the coaching team of a dynamic, successful women’s section with the 1st XV (Valkyries) achieving a playoff place in the English Women's Premiership this season and the 2nd XV competing in Championship Midlands 2 (two leagues below Premiership).
The Ladies Section has over 60 female members, including full internationals from England, Scotland and Wales and several Under 20s internationals, and has close links with the club’s thriving mini-junior girls section and local universities. The successful applicants will work under the mentorship of Women’s Director of Rugby Donna Kennedy and 1st XV Head Coach Kat Merchant with the aim of winning 2nd XV promotion into Championship 1.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Working within a team of coaches delivering coaching for both 1st and 2nd XV

  • Tuesday and Thursday evening training sessions throughout pre-season and in-season periods

  • Leading up 2nd XV Sunday afternoon league and cup matches

  • Maintaining and developing links with WRFC U15s and U18s and with local universities

  • Continuing own coaching professional development

Personal specifications:

  • RFU Level 2 or equivalent (required)

  • Previous experience of coaching women (desirable)

  • Well organised with good people and communication skills

  • The ability to both lead and work as part of a team and to deliver high quality coaching sessions

  • Committed and enthusiastic
