Worcester (U12) vs Dudley Kingswinford (U12) mixed teams game 2
The Woo take the honours against the DooDoos
The final game of the morning saw the Worcester mixed team that dominated Droitwich take on an almost full strength gang of the Black Country's finest, sadly missing the talismanic Gordy, who were narrowly beaten by...
"Push 'im auurrtt...!"
Oi! We haven't started yet. Now where was I? Errr, Gordy, talismanic, the Witch, ahh yes, who were narrowly beaten by the first Worcester mixed up team. Game on.
From the kick off the Woowaas countered with Chip plucking the ball out of the air as if he was catching snowflakes, fed Herbmaster Sage who blasted through a shaky Winfordian defensive line before scoring the first.
Back came the Dudlesians, putting the quick score out the their heads, but ran into a strong defence, and several phases later no ground was taken or given. Finally a breakthrough, Ben Purser scrambling at the breakdown with good support from Paddy, and Kreuger was off down the outside. The Dudlosakians reeled him in like a fishing man catching a fish type creature, but a composed offload opened the door for Tarragon to grab his second.
Again the two teams slugged it out in the middle of the green stuff, again the Woopers turned it over, and for the third time Dr. Parsley grabbed the try.
It looked like our boys had more tries in them, and flowing rugby was at risk of breaking out a times, with Rufus 'Hound Dog' Hyde displaying the quick hands of a Western gunslinger, and calling the shots alongside Fish 'ed playing off the baee of the breakdown, but remember, three is the magic number so sayeth the wise men of De La Soul, and so that was to be the lot for the morning.
A conciliatory try for Scarth's boys at the end made it 3-1, but a great team performance by the Mighty Woo had been the difference on the day.
