Workington RFC nicknamed â€Ã...“The Zebras" is based in Moss Bay and provides coaching, mentoring and facilities for the whole local community to play and thrive at sport, primarily but not exclusively Rugby Union.
The club fields 8 sides for all ages and levels of playing ability (1st XV, 2nd XV, Veterans, Ladies, U13, U15, U17, and U18). The club does not and will not pay members to play rugby; the club is made up of members of local community who play for the love of the game.
The club is only able to survive through the generosity of its sponsors the adults teams pay both membership and subs every game to play. The majority of the money raised by the club goes towards the development and running cost of the youth team we operate.
You have received this letter as it is hoped that you may be able to support this club to keep rugby union alive in Workington and support the development of sport for our communitys youth. The youth section last year cost in excess of £10,000 to run none of this cost was, the coaches who provided their time free of charge. If you believe you could support the club then please have a look at the attached sponsorship leaflet and contact one of our representatives.
It is imperative that this historic club survives to provide the opportunity for another generation of Workingtons youth to experience and enjoy sport, in their home town.
