Club Events
The event is open to all FE Colleges and School 6th Form students but must be U19 on 1st Sept 2011. The event will be held at Workington RFC. The idea behind this competition is to offer a competitive participation opportunity for individuals who may not play a lot of Rugby at present, this does not include 1st XV established players. If you are an established school please consider entering a ‘Development’ XV on the day, the ethos is not about the winning but about the traditional values of Rugby with enjoyment at the forefront. As mentioned earlier we are looking to stimulate interest from the 2nd Tier of Players in established Schools/Colleges or 1st Team Squads from Colleges who are new to the sport. The format will be 10 a Side (5 Forwards / 5 Backs) and around 7 minutes each way. Registration will be from 11:30am with games kicking off at 12pm.
This event has been a real success in the past and we have introduced a number of ‘new’ players to the game as a consequence. Please support this as we look to develop the sustainability of the Clubs in Cumbria. Previous winners have been St Benedict’s 6th Form & Keswick School Development who will hopefully be looking to participate again.
