All roads lead to Borough Park

3 months ago By Paul Armstrong

All roads lead to Borough Park tonight, that’s if you can avoid various closures and maintenance programmes going on in the area.

The club are hoping for a bumper attendance for the rearranged Ilkeston game (7.45pm) as they seek a win that will secure a third successive top five finish.

Already relegated Ilkeston have nothing but pride to play for and come to Cumbria two and half weeks later than originally scheduled. The game was controversially postponed on 1st April when the players refused to travel over an unpaid wages dispute.

The Robins have experienced a torrid time, on and off the pitch, winning just seven matches all season. One of the thirty one defeats they have suffered was against Reds at the New Manor ground in November when Rob Wilson and Scott Allison netted in a 2-0 score line.

David Hewson and Lee Andrews have a full squad available, and those who missed out at the weekend will be hoping for a recall tonight as Reds go in search of a seventh league double.

For those unable to get to Borough Park, BBC Radio Cumbria will be covering the game live, on line, and Paul Armstrong will, as usual, be operating the Live Scoreboard facility via our own website.
