Unbeaten in their last five games, Stourbridge are strongly fancied to feature in the play-offs and will be well prepared to take on below-strength Reds as they seek their first league win at Borough Park. As they normally do for this fixture, Stourbridge will travel up to Cumbria on Friday.
They have already played fifty games this season but have not shown any signs of fatigue with a recent blip in form now well behind them.
Gary Hackett’s side are currently in third spot with 68 points so far and they score freely and concede fewer goals than most teams in Evo-Stik Premier.
After inflicting a 5-0 defeat upon us at their ground, they had the welcome distraction of a run to the 3rd Round of the FA Cup. Now, though, they are focussed on promotion.
Reds are relying on a host of clubs above them to slip up whilst they hit a winning run in order to reach the play-offs, but they certainly haven’t thrown the towel in just yet.
They will have to go into battle with a makeshift midfield with Rob Wilson joining Anthony Wright on the injured list and James Earl starting his four-match suspension.
How ironic that former skipper, Tony Hopper, will be the club’s rather special guest at the game, along with members of his family.
Tony was diagnosed with motor neurone disease recently and supporters have been given the opportunity to get behind one of Reds’ all-time favourites in his hour of need.
