The long wait is over with the Evo-Stik League getting underway on Saturday ...

... and Reds opening the new campaign by hosting Halesowen Town at Borough Park (3pm).

After training at the ground on Thursday, the management duo of David Hewson and Lee Andrews confirmed that Conor Tinnion, last season’s double Player of the Year, was the main doubt for a starting place. He hasn’t trained for the past week after picking up a hamstring injury.

The rest of the squad are fit and ready to go with Aaran Taylor leading out Reds for their 31st season of Northern Premier League football.

It will be our seventh league encounter against John Hill’s Halesowen side with Reds winning three of those meetings, losing two and drawing the other. They last made the long journey north as recently as April when, ironically, Tinnion’s first half goal was enough to secure the points.

Reds haven’t started with an opening day home win since 2012 but, twelve months ago, made a decent start, a 2-1 success at Rushall Olympic.

Admission prices for the new season:

Adult - £11

Concession - £7

12 – 18 year olds - £3

Under 12 - £1

Season tickets are available in those categories at £220, £140, £60 and £20 respectively.
